Stanford was born and raised in Kalihi third generation immigrant(Sansei). He graduated class of 1966 Farrington High School.
He worked his way through school starting in middle school as held jobs such as pinapple harvester, forklift operator, concrete laborer, custodian, night clerk, hospital aid, and legal intern while earning his Bachelor's degree in Political Science at U.H. in 1969 and then his JD at Temple School of Law, Philadelphia, PA in 1976.
ContactErin is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law. While attending law school, Erin was a Dean's List member, and member and mentor for the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and Women's Law Caucus. During law school, Erin also was a Certified Legal Intern, which allowed her to represent clients as their attorney in court through clinical internships at the Temple Legal Aid Office and the Mazzoni Center.
Erin also interned for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, and spent a semester studying at Temple Law School's Tokyo Campus, where in addition to a full course load, she interned at the Law Offices of Matsuo & Kosugi and International Refugees. Erin graduated as a Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society Fellow for her exceptional contribution of pro bono hours and public service.
Prior to attending law school, Erin graduated from Punahou School, and earned her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and English from the University of Washington. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Erin worked for Representative Marcus Oshiro at the Hawaii State House of Representatives, and for the Hon. Daniel Akaka and thelate Senator Daniel K. Inouye in their respective Washington D.C., Congressional Offices.
